Do you currently hold a HLTA qualification? Do you have experience covering classes to support a school of covering teacher absence? Are you looking for a new challenge to become a HLTA or Cover Supervisor? A graduate in Sociology?

Academics are recruiting on behalf of number of mainstreams schools in Reading, Berkshire for HLTAs starting this new academic year, September 2022. This is a full time contract until July 2023.

We are seeking a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or experienced Teaching Assistant who is willing to train as a HLTA. The HLTA will work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils and promote pupils' independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. They will give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement.

You will need to support children's learning up to GCSE level, be adaptable accordingly to the needs of the individual children, and make observations and carry out sessions instructed by the teacher to improve progress.

You will be working alongside the teachers and other teaching assistants to support children in their attainment and progress.

Having the ability to lead a class with experience is a bonus for this role.

Key skills and experience needed:

* Degree is preferred, in subjects such sociology* Ideal to have completed TEFL/CELTA* Experience working with children of EAL* Contribute an enthusiastic and creative approach to learning.* Support with the delivery of the curriculum.* High levels of professionalism.
