Description

The ESL Instructional Supervisor supports the improvement of instruction for English Language Learners (ELLs) in all Gestalt Community Schools through curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development; facilitates the implementation of the network's ELA curriculum; works collaboratively as a Network team member team to ensure scholar success; demonstrates efforts in supporting teachers in the use of best practices in instruction; coordinates Spanish translation and assessments of scholar achievement; provides/facilitates network and campus-level professional development; provides supplemental ongoing training and supports to improve the instruction to ELLs; facilitate and evaluate the network program for Bilingual & ESL compliance; collaborates with network staff and outside personnel to provide educational and career opportunities for ELLs.

Grades K-12 Tasks

• Plans and directs curriculum improvement activities, pilot programs, and special projects at the network level;
• Provides assistance to and coordinates activities with ESL teachers and instructional leaders and coaches;
• Assists principals, instructional supervisors, and external curriculum providers in developing instructional programs consistent with Literacy and ESL program goals and objectives;
• Oversees evaluative procedures for ESL instructional programs K-12;
• Assists in planning and coordinating state-federal projects relating to the ESL Program;
• Coordinates the development of curriculum guidelines and other related materials for ESL Program;
• Oversees and evaluates the integration of technology as a tool for instruction and learning for ESL Program;
• Design and implement professional development for teachers and school leaders regarding ESL programming and instructional practices;
• Coordinating and facilitating translation services for the network:
• Oversees and evaluates the alignment of assessments and accommodations for ELLs

11. Comply with network policies, as well as State and Federal laws and regulations regarding ESL programming;

• Performs such other duties as assigned by the Managing Director of Scholar Support

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree (TOSEL or Curriculum and Instruction)
• Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience and a minimum of three years of successful experience as a school or district-level coach
• Current ESL Endorsement

Essential Functions:

• Oversees the development, maintenance, programming, and compliance reporting for the total network ESL programming;
• Oversees the development and maintenance of the network instructional and ESL teacher development
• Facilitate the execution of K-12 best literacy practices for ELLs network-wide.
