Full-Time ESL Staff Instructor

 

Gannon University, a Catholic university, invites applications for a full-time staff instructor in the English as a Second Language Program. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience on two levels: English-language instruction for academic purposes inclusive of cultural assimilation for non-English speakers; non-teaching staff responsibilities in support of the ESL Program. Primary responsibilities include planning, teaching, and evaluating students in accordance with the university-based ESL program curriculum at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels; coordinating out-of-class experiential events to support in-class training; supporting the program via administrative responsibilities that include testing, scheduling, registering, and celebrating student success.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A master’s degree in TESOL or related field; relevant and documented experience in lieu of TESOL certification may be considered; significant ESL teaching experience, especially at the post-secondary level; understanding of various forms of pedagogy and assessment; demonstrated understanding and respect for cultural differences. Must be able to support and promote the University’s inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education programs.
