Job Summary::

The National Director of Education Services is responsible for directing and ensuring the quality of educational services provided in all Unaccompanied Minor's Shelter Program. The National Director of Education Services analyzes the effectiveness of programming, ensures all performance improvement standards are monitored and provides guidance accordingly. All duties are performed based on education, training and experience within the field of Education.

Essential Functions::
  • Oversee Regional Directors of Education and Training, ensuring that common standards and policies exist across all programs and regions.
  • Develop standard operations procedures for business lines to lead and to monitor growth of new programs.
  • Align on the job experiences across the company to support new program growth.
  • Draft supplemental requests for training and assistance in creating new programs.
  • Develop and monitor teacher certification programs and professional development requirements for ongoing certification.
  • Develop personalized learning programs for all children, utilizing technology as a facilitator in offering unique learning experiences for each child and integrating team and project-based learning principles.
  • Analyze data on pre/post intake progress to refine educational programs.
  • Create a standard of supplies and equipment for all programs and handles logistics of moving equipment between programs to maximize resource sharing.
  • Develop and conduct training of educators as needed; identify and make recommendations for e-learning and other training requirements.
  • Collaborate with Regional Director of Youth Services to develop systems and protocols for the direct care services that the education department are required to support and follow for the care and safety of the clients in care.
  • Collaborate with the executive management team to ensure compliance with regulations in policy development/implementation, as well as on-going program refinement based upon advances in the field.
  • Prepare written reports and presentations related to education programming and deliver to appropriate audiences as needed.
Other Functions::
  • Collaborate with the Public School Districts in ensuring the MOU's provide the required education services to meet the state requirements and funding source policies.
  • Must be available to travel to other cities, states, SWK sites, and community sites as needed in order to support necessary program operations and as needed for required training and implementation of new initiatives.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
  • Develop programs, such as the Emerging Leaders Program, to meet critical skill gaps across the company.
  • Develop certification programs for all supervisors, utilizing scaffolding skills as leaders grow within the company.
  • Develop SWK-managed license for Arizona administrators in the absence of state-approved certification.
  • Develop and oversee Professional Learning Communities that are encouraged to identify common concerns, create solutions, and support one another.
  • Develop a superior English as a Second language instruction curriculum for speakers of other languages through excellent teaching, an engaging curriculum, and programs which support learning, collaboration, and community-building.
  • Creating high-quality professional development opportunities for teachers, supporting teaching English as a second language learning, providing program evaluation services, and developing and delivering curriculum in different contexts through collaborations with students and teachers.
  • Encouraging respect for cultural and linguistic diversity through intercultural competence, professionalism, and collaboration and promote cultural understanding and overall student success.
Qualifications and Requirements::
  • Master's degree or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Education or in other related field.
  • Five (5) years of relevant Educational experience; two (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Compliance with annual requirement of 50 training hours as mandated by Southwest Key Programs, Office of Refugee Resettlement, and state licensing standards.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and be eligible to drive to facilitate program services as required by contractual agreement.
  • Required to work a flexible schedule to facilitate program services.
  • Cleared Tuberculosis test results.
  • Cleared background check from appropriate entity.
  • Cleared drug test results (Texas programs only).
Preferred
  • Experience working in the non-profit sector or public sector.
  • Experience working in a coaching or mentorship capacity for high volume organizations.
  • Demonstrate basic foundational principles, recognize second or foreign language learning theories, and design and plan lessons to teach English as a second or foreign language effectively.
  • TEFL/TESOL Certification


A TEFL/TESOL certificate is recognized worldwide as an entry-level credential for teaching English as a foreign language (EFL); this is also known as TESOL, which means Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. A TEFL/TESOL Certificate prepares people without prior education degrees or teaching experience how to teach English in the foreign language classroom.Physical Demands::

Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of workstation and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Must be able to obtain Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification and First Aid Certification (CPR). Bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs required to complete daily tasks.

Work Environment::

General office environment with moderate noise. Requires extensive traveling. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
