Adjunct Position (part-time) to teach ESEM 150: Earlham Seminar 1 in Fall 2022
Length of Term: Aug. 24-Dec. 15
Meeting Time of course: MWF 9-9:50 am, Additional Instructional Time on Fridays 2:30-3:50 pm
Office Hours availability: minimum 2 hrs per week (on-campus or remote)

Course Description
This section of the Earlham Seminar is a first-year seminar that incorporates a number of institution-wide goals (ex. writing skills development, cohort building, and career discernment) as well as program-specific goals in support of English language learners (ex. reading and vocabulary development, critical thinking, and citation skills). The instructor hired may choose to use existing materials/topics previously used in the course or develop a new topic and choose new materials, although there are some required curricular elements.
Ideal Candidate Description
Previous teaching experience working with English language learners in some capacity is preferred. An ideal candidate should have a minimum of a TESOL Certificate or M.A. in TESOL, Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition or related fields. Consideration will be given to individuals in the process of completing an M.A. or doctorate in one of the above-mentioned fields who need to complete a practicum or field experience. Experience using learning management systems (i.e. Moodle) is helpful. Individual must be able to teach in-person, on-campus in Richmond, Indiana, United States.
