The Project Coordinator –Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) coordinates aspects of a graduate TESOL program for in-service teachers and school-based educator teams, including recruiting participants, coordinating support for participants, monitoring program participants’ progress, assisting with observations and data collection, and serving as a liaison with local educational agency partners. This is a grant-funded position, limited term through August 31, 2022. 

Specific responsibilities include

  • Monitoring participants’ progress to completion;
  • Facilitating teacher observations in schools;
  • Collecting and analyzing data;
  • Preparing reports;
  • Advising graduate students;
  • Serving as a liaison with public school districts;
  • Maintaining a project archive;
  • Procuring supplies and services for school-based projects;
  • Keeping financial records and working with budget documents;
  • Supporting evaluation research;
  • Providing logistical support to a team, using cloud-based applications.

Experience: A least one year of experience is required in one of the following areas: academic advising, classroom teaching, administrative coordination, or project management. Public school administrative experience, demonstrated excellence in certified K-12 public school teaching with English learners, and bilingual proficiency are preferred. Experience with online collaboration, data management, assessment, or educational research is preferred.

Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Technical readiness to collaborate using a learning management system, videoconferencing, and cloud-based computing such as Office 365.

Readiness to serve language minority students and their families is required. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
