Creative Alternative Provision in Bexley is recruiting for an English Teacher / SEN Teacher (ie PGCE/ Cert Ed/ SCITT/ GTP /Teach First / QTS). This is a 5 day a week long term contract to commence in January 2022.

This Alternative Provision caters to children with ASD, SEMH & behavioural needs. Children who attend are between 11 - 16 years of age. Robust Senior Leadership and strong behavioural support staff. SEN Teachers have been graded a minimum of a 'Good' in lesson observations. Their young people respond well to genuine, empathetic, fun, engaging, and supportive staff. Staff has great experience working within SEN, especially CAMHS/SEMH /ASD children.

New opportunity for either an NQT or Experienced (MPS or UPS) English Teacher / Teacher of English / SEN Teacher who can teach KS3 to GCSE English. It would be beneficial if, additionally you can teach English Functional Skills. This is a full time and long term contract. Ideally they would like someone to start immediately but are willing to wait for the right Teacher of English/ English Teacher. This would suit a well-qualified NQT or Experienced Teacher of English (ie PGCE/ SCITT, Cert Ed GTP/ Teach First/ QTS - Unfortunately NOT suited to an EFL/ESL/TESOL/TEFL or Celta qualified Teacher). You are an all-round good to outstanding Teacher of English / SEN Teacher who has exemplary experience teaching English Literature & Language at KS3 & GCSE.

  • Well Qualified Teacher (ie PGCE/SCITT/ GTP / SCITT /Teach First/ Cert Ed/ QTS etc).
  • MPS or UPS English Teacher / Teacher of English are welcome to apply (unfortunately (NOT SUITABLE for an ESOL/ EFL/ Celta/ TESOL/ TEFL etc teacher)
  • NQTs and Experienced Teachers welcome to apply!
  • You have successfully taught English Literature & Language in either a mainstream secondary school/ Alternative Provision / SEN School or Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)
  • Experience teaching English at KS3 + GCSE levels (additionally IF can offer English
  • IF you can also teach functional skills this would be beneficial but not essential
  • Your SEN Experience; ie ASD/ ASC/ADHD/ ODD/ ADD/ SEMH / CAMHS and challenging behaviour
  • Must have worked in either a Secondary mainstream School or Alternative Provision / Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) and/or SEN School
  • Able to teach fun and engaging lessons and build a strong rapport with your pupils
  • You have been observed as a minimum of a 'Good' Teacher
  • Available to start in January 2022 with an Enhanced DBS with the update service
