ESL Test Proctoring & Registration Position

Job Description

We are looking for test proctors for a prestigious English language level test conducted on Saturday mornings.

As a test proctor, you will work as part of the test day invigilation team to ensure the examinations are conducted in accordance with British Council/Cambridge Assessment policies and procedures at all times. The job role will include *set-up of test rooms, *various check-in/registration procedures for test candidates, *preparation of test day materials, *monitoring of testers during the exam and on breaks, and *following specific procedures in the administration of the exam and transitions during the exam.

A list of test dates is provided well in advance. We run the test 1-3 Saturdays a month. Preference will be given to candidates with more consistent availability although being able to test at least one of the 2-3 times is acceptable. The majority of staff is needed on Saturday mornings from 6:30am-12:30/1:00pm. We may be looking to hire 1-2 additional staff that would also often be available in the afternoons from around 11:45am-5:00 or 6:00 pm. Shift times will have some variation due to specific test day factors such as number of candidates.

Educational background and/or experience managing a classroom or exams is a plus though not required.

Qualifications

Standing, moving around a classroom, and some lifting required.
Light cleaning for sanitization purpose is included in set-up time.

You should:

• Be able to confidently speak & read instructions in front of a classroom of test takers.
• Be sensitive to cultural differences & have patience.
• Observe the need for confidentiality and maintaining test security standards.
• Complete tasks accurately and with great attention to detail.

Salary: $12/Hour

Temperature checks and masks are required for staff and test. Vaccination is currently strongly encouraged for staff. Hand sanitizer, and other cleaning supplies are provided in each test area.
