Devereux will be opening a new program providing therapeutic residential care services for unaccompanied minors through the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). Devereux will provide extremely high-quality, trauma-informed, culturally-competent residential and educational services for these children, with intense supports for their social and emotional health. Each child's care is individualized to their needs, with a team of professionals providing consistent support through individual assessment and counseling, group counseling, medical and mental health services, behavior management, education and vocational services, and safety planning.
Devereux's ultimate goal is to ensure every child receives best-in-class services designed specifically to address the traumas they have sustained during, and often before, their migration journey as well as to help them connect either to shelter or foster care, or to their sponsor.

The Bilingual Certified Teacher is responsible for providing instruction in the areas of mathematics, language arts, science and social studies. You will provide an Initial and Final Report for the child. The Bilingual Certified Teacher focuses on academic intervention and enrichment, and must be able to communicate proficiently in Spanish. You will report to the Program Director and receive education related supervision from the US Educational Administrator consultant.
The starting salary range for this position is $56,000-$68,000

Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field required, Master's Degree preferred.
Licensed to provide teaching services in Colorado. Special Education Certification highly preferred.
21 years of age or older
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Valid driver's license
Work experience in a multi-grade setting. Experience with IEPs and trauma-informed care. Must understand effective ways to learn based on diagnosis and provide those accommodations in the classroom.
Empathetic, have ability to maintain sound boundaries, create and maintain a therapeutic treatment environment and have a team approach to care for our individuals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work with adolescents
Energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor
Able to attend ten days of in-house orientation on weekdays
Able to lift up to 50+ pounds and perform Safe and Positive Approach
Must be able to complete and provide proof of current influenza vaccination
Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate's understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
The Federal Government COVID-19 vaccine mandate requires most staff working at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Colorado to be vaccinated. In order to be employed at this center in this position, you must:
If vaccinated - provide proof of vaccination prior to start date.
If unvaccinated:
o Receive the first dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine or a one-dose COVID-19 vaccine prior to providing any care, treatment, or other services by Dec. 5, 2021; and
o The necessary shots to be fully vaccinated - either two doses of Pfizer or Moderna or one dose of Johnson & Johnson - by Jan. 4, 2022.
o Note: If you are getting the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, you must get this vaccine by Dec. 5, 2021.
