EAL Teaching Assistant

Tradewind are currently looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant for a long-term post for one of its Kensington based Primary schools. This vacancy is an immediate start. The role is full-time until December with the potential to continue for the full academic year. The position is 5 days a week, 8.30am - 3.30pm.

The successful Teaching Assistant will be joining an Ofsted rated 'Good' school with good quality leadership and a culture of high expectations. Staff are proud to work at this school and feel highly valued. We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is eager to provide aid and support for the pupils and teachers.

The role of a Teaching Assistant includes:
* to support pupils with learning difficulties and language barriers with English not being their first language

* Working on a one to one basis with a student or with a small group of students, identified by the class Teacher;
* You will be responsible for making learning as accessible as possible for the students that you work with and therefore it is essential that you show empathy and patience, whilst ensuring they are as engaged as possible;
* A committed, positive and nurturing character is essential, along with empathy, as some students will have been away from the classroom for a while;

To join us and be considered for this Teaching Assistant job you must:
* The ideal candidate will be bi-lingual or have previous experience working with EAL Pupils. A TEFL qualification would also be ideal however not necessary and to hold a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification at Level 2 OR a degree;
* Have experience supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2;
* This position is subject to Enhanced DBS, Overseas police check (if applicable) and satisfactory references;
* Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any gaps in employment must be explained;
* Have the legal right to work in the UK.
