PT or FT English Teacher / SEN Teacher (PRU)

Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bexley is recruiting for a (PT or FT) Teacher of English/ English Teacher/ SEN Teacher (MPS or UPS ) to start immediately to cover sickness.

Popular & Creative Pupil Referral Unit which caters to SEMH/ASD & Behaviour pupils. Outstanding SLT, SEN Teachers, Behaviour Support Staff and overall team. THE SEN Teachers at this PRU have been graded minimally 'Good' within lesson observations. This needs to be the case for any new Teachers who start at the PRU. Pupils are at KS3 - KS5 levels.

The Role

Exciting opportunity for a well-qualified NQT or Experienced) MPS or UPS. This would be a part time post, however if you are an SEN Teacher who can teach multiple subjects this could be made a full time post! You would be working with children on a 1:1 basis and within small groups (maximum of 7 pupils per class). You will be able to teach and have experience teaching fun and engaging English lit. & language classes. You will be able to plan, assess and deliver fun and engaging lessons to your SEN pupils. You will also be great at de-escalating behavioural difficulties, be empathetic, resilient and dedicated to ensuring your pupils are the best versions of themselves

The Successful English Teacher/ SEN Teacher (NQT or Experienced) (PT or FT)

• ONLY Suitable to well-qualified MPS or UPS English Literature & language Teacher / SEN Teacher **NOT Suitable for ie EAL/ ESOL/ TESOL/ EFL/ ESL / TEFL Teachers**.
• Well Qualified English Teacher ie GTP/ PGCE/ Teach First/ SCITT/ Cert Ed OR QTS.
• MUST have taught English Literature & Language at KS3 & KS4 (minimum).
• NQT and Experienced English Teacher / Teacher of English / SEN Teacher (MPS or UPS) welcome to apply
• WORKED with SEN children with behaviour challenges (ie SEMH/ CAMHS / ASD/ ADHD/ ODD/ ADD/ PDA/ Behaviour etc)
• MUST have worked in either a PRU/ Secondary School / Alternative Provision / SEN School as a Teacher of English / English Teacher
• Passionate about working with SEN Pupils
• Can successfully build a strong rapport with your students and engage them well
• Must be able to easily travel to Bexley Borough
