The Center for American English Language and Culture (CAELC) at the University of Virginia seeks applications for a Lecturer in TESOL.   This is a three year, tenure-ineligible appointment with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon available funding, satisfactory performance, and need for the position.

 

 

 

Responsibilities during the academic year include teaching three English language support classes per semester, assisting with testing and placement at the beginning of each semester, assisting with development of assessment tools and curriculum, and completing other administrative duties as assigned. The position also includes teaching in the 4.5-week summer English for Academic Purposes program.

 

 

 

Applicants must have a Master’s degree, PhD preferred.  Three years in post-secondary education which includes work with English Language Learners in freshman composition classes is strongly preferred.
