JOB TITLE: Instructional Assistant for Elementary ELL Newcomer Summer Program
REPORTS TO: Elementary Bilingual/ESL Coordinator/Program Facilitator
DEPARTMENT: 880
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assist the teacher in planning and implementing lesson plans.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess:
* High School Diploma
* College experience preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
Must possess one or more of the following skills:
* Bilingual (English & Spanish) Preferred
* Strong English and Reading skills
* Experience working with English Language Learners - preferred
* Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
* Ability to problem solve and communicate well with parents
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Assistants for the Elementary ELL Newcomer Summer Program reports to their assigned campus. All instructional assistants will attend training for the specific program. Instructional assistants will work closely with the Elementary ELL Newcomer Summer Program Facilitator, Bilingual/ESL Coordinator, teachers, and students. As well as, conducting other duties as assigned. Appropriate dress is required as per IISD Dress Code.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

Prolonged standing
Maintain emotional control under stress
