The English Learner (EL) Teacher is responsible for program implementation by serving the instructional and consultative needs for Insight PA students identified as English learners. This professional provides staff support and training to instill best practices and effective strategies to promote English language acquisition. Individuals must hold an active PA Instructional certification AND documentation of successful ESL Specialist Certificate Program completion. Candidates with strong experience teaching English learners as well as inspiring educational personnel to adjust instruction to meet the cultural diversity in every classroom are strongly encouraged to apply. This is a full-time position that includes a full benefits package employed by the Insight PA Cyber Charter School, Board of Directors.

Provides leadership and technical assistance for K-12 EL programs and services, including Title III monitoring and guidance for teachers and administrators;
Gives guidance and support for State Board of Education initiatives and policies, state statutes, and all aspects of Title III including guidelines, statutes, applications, and budgets;
Administers, supports, and/or oversees administration of annual required state testing of EL students;
Delivers technical assistance for standards implementation and professional learning around teaching-learning strategies, assessment, program development and evaluation, curriculum development and implementation;
Provides ongoing professional development and support related to EL services, methodology, and resources to teachers, staff, and administration;
Collaborates with building administrators and teachers to review individual EL student progress;
Teaches EL classes and/or provide individual student support as needed
Create opportunities for onsite student/family events
Determine family communication needs, including recommending interpreters and translators for parent/guardian communication.
Applies demonstrated skills in working with K12 curriculum & other supplemental EL program resources for state standard alignment for individual student English proficiency needs
Augments course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools;
Collaborates with grade-level team regarding instruction, resources, interventions and data-driven decision making;
Identifies appropriate individualized accommodations for EL students to increase accessibility and participation on local and state assessments;
Establishes and maintains positive rapport with families and regularly communicates with students and learning coaches/parents regarding student progress
Produces formal and/or informal reports regarding student progress data to provide regular updates regarding screening needs and placement Other Duties and Responsibilities: The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. Collects and analyzes formative and summative assessments;
Maintains a student caseload to schedule Class Connect sessions for any individualized or small group language/skill-building sessions
Collaborates with colleagues in order to promote consistent strategies and accommodations for individual students;
Travels to and/or participates in school-wide professional development meetings, scheduled school/family outings, state testing, & other specialized content trainings as needed Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Education AND
Relevant PDE Certificate(s) (see Certificates and Licenses below)
Certificate of completion of ESL Program Specialist program AND
All required PDE clearances for school personnel (within 1 year needed for offer) Certificates and Licenses:

Active PDE Instructional I or Instructional II certification AND/OR
A PDE ESL Program Specialist certificate is required for an assignment for which no active instructional, educational specialist, supervisor or administrative certificate exists Other Required Qualifications:

Experience with/knowledge of working with students & families of EL students
Excellent awareness of varied cultural & diversity factors across PA state demographics
Strong interpersonal skills emphasizing tact, promptness, patience and courtesy; ability to establish a professional, effective rapport with students
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Microsoft Office, Power Point and Outlook, as well as Internet research methods and report writing techniques;
Competence with utilizing computer software associated with student programming & seeks additional training in technology as required and/or assigned
Able to interpret content-specific screening & assessment data to determine most appropriate methods to assist broad measures of student growth in academic language proficiency
Communicates professionally and efficiently both orally and in writing
Demonstrates advocacy of student needs in decision-making and program updates
Exceptional organizational and time management skills Desired Qualifications:

Masters degree in Education or related field
Experience with charter and/or online school environment
Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
Ability to learn new technologies and tools
Special education, gifted, EL, or subject-specific endorsement
Proficient in principles, theories, practices, methods and techniques used in curriculum development and classroom instruction for a diverse student population, such as English Language Learners (EL), special needs, at-risk, and/or gifted students
Experience teaching in both online and in a brick-and-mortar environment
Experience working in a home environment full time Work Environment:

We are seeking applicants from Pennsylvania. We anticipate a typical school office setting including conversation, light foot traffic, computers, etc.
Instructional staff residing within 30 miles of ISPA headquarters (Exton, PA) must report to the office a minimum of 2 days per week
