This position oversees the curriculum, structure, and student achievement aspects of the assigned program.

Develop, update, and/or maintain and coordinate multi-level English as a Second Language curriculum and assessment for all ESL programs. Resolve issues with curriculum and class pedagogy. May give presentations on pedagogy to ELP teachers. Conduct class observation and provide feedback on delivery of curriculum and pedagogy, and material selection, etc. Write and maintain teaching and curricula documents, policies and procedures. Determine learning outcomes for courses in all programs based on academic English requirements or a needs analysis determination for cohort programs. Material selection including textbook for each course each semester, student assessment instruments for both incoming students and program completion evaluation. In coordination with the director and the assistant director, make, post, and update program schedule and teaching assignments. Assist in staff development activities. Set standards for the use of classroom technology for the program. Serve as a substitute when needed in assigned program. Provide input to Director about instructor performance, curriculum implementation and changes, and teaching assignments. Perform other related duties specific to the ESL programs and participate in special projects.


Qualifications:
Master’s degree in TESOL, Linguistics or closely related field. Five years of teaching in an intensive English program with current pedagogy. Knowledge of best practices in English as a second language curriculum and assessment. Knowledge of English for academic purposes pedagogy. Basic knowledge of computer software programs such as MS-Office, Zoom, Google Docs.
