Assistant Professor of TESOL/Linguistics
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in language and linguistics, and English general education composition courses; maintaining an active scholarly agenda; and participating in university and departmental service,notably in ESL teacher education program outreach and assessment.
Doctorate in TESOL, linguistics, applied linguistics, second language acquisition, or doctorate in other appropriate area; demonstrate excellence in and commitment to undergraduate education, teaching and mentoring first-generation college students both in and out of the classroom, and teaching and mentoring underrepresented minority students both in and out of the classroom; demonstrate a record of scholarly and professional activities appropriate for a teaching-centered institution; enthusiasm for service to the university, the field, and the community. Candidates must demonstrate effective teaching in both face-to-face and online classrooms. Candidate must show enthusiasm for working with public school teachers and developing ESL teacher education programs in a team setting.
