The College of Education at Oregon State University invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, Teaching Program Instructor position. This position is in alignment with the College of Education’s Strategic Plan and Oregon State University’s commitment to student success.

This instructor position is 1.0 FTE to teach and develop courses in the Teaching major and will be reviewed for renewal on an annual basis at the discretion of the Dean.

 

This primary purpose of this instructor position is to foster critical thinking, advance student’s knowledge and skills through the teaching of discipline/courses. The incumbent is expected to provide an intellectual foundation for students concerning the major program area. The courses serve students in degree programs and provide enrichment experiences for both majors and non-majors.

This position is responsible for developing and teaching courses in the Teaching Major, Bachelor of Science degree, Option in Clinically Based Elementary Education (CBEE) program. The program Instructor delivers courses and supports development of courses that model the use of current research, equity and social justice within course design and facilitation. This instructor also promotes cross-cultural communication and collaboration for diverse learners.

 

The College of Education contributes to major national dialogues concerning research and the promotion of social justice in (1) the success of English language learners of all ages; (2) developmentally appropriate pedagogy for all ages; (3) learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics inside and outside of school; (4) the preparation of mental health and school counselors; (5) adult and higher education leadership. We develop change agents in the form of formal and informal educators, counselors, and leaders. These change agents identify issues and act towards social justice and the full- development of human potential and society.
